Things to know:
– All the Vancouver casinos allow you to call-in and put your name on the wait-list, and your name will usually be on the wait-list for 1 hour maximum.
– BCLC Gaming Rules: the maximum bet a player can make on any street (regardless of the size of the stakes) is $2,500.
– Each casino usually charges $5 rake per hand (maximum) and $1 bad beat jackpot on a full ring table. Although rake is often lowered for Limit Hold’em games or if the table is shorthanded.
– Each casino/poker room offers a Bad Beat Jackpot promotion. Certain poker rooms in Vancouver require Aces full of Tens to lose in order to qualify for the bad beat, while other poker rooms require Quad Eights to lose. See each poker room’s website for the latest Poker Bad Beat Jackpot rules and prize amounts.

Grad villa runs 2/4 limit more than they 4/8 I think
Also, they run a kill version of limit at times where if you will twice in a row the kill is on and the blinds double

I really like out bosses at Edgewater, they really know their stuff and how to make correct rulings. For the most part I’ve found them to be the most consistent and trust worthy in comparison to the other casinos

Thanks for sharing some info Shahdad.

I miss the 10/20 limit kill at Broadway. Back in the day Ivan and I used to crush those games!!! That was just when NL was taking off…

    • Gary

Totally agree, that game was ridiculously loose. Even the 20/40 kill, often times it played like 2/4 lol.

  • Alex

What is the bad beat jackpot?

    • Ivan Y

Bad Beat Jackpot is often when a big hand loses to another big hand. For instance, at Edgewater Casino if you lose AAATT in Texas Hold’em the winning hand and the losing hand gets a piece of the bad beat jackpot. Losing Hand gets 50% share, Winning Hand gets 25% share and the rest of the players dealt in the hand split the 25% remaining Bad Beat share.

    Improve this list!

  • Steve

One thing that is missing but probably quite important is the amount of rake charged at each poker room. Also, for local players it is probably common knowledge but for the out of towners, some casinos are easily accessible by Skytrain mass transit while others definitely require a car to visit and this should also be noted in the table above. Maybe even an estimated travel time from known points of references such as from: downtown and airport.

    • Ivan Y

Hello Steve – have updated the list under the “Things to know” as almost all casino charges a $5+$1 for 1/2 NLHE games and above.
